An access log is a comprehensive list of all the files which were accessed by the guests of a particular site. Every file that was requested for some reason will be listed, so if you have only one page with three embedded images, one video and one embedded text file, as an illustration, the access log will contain a total of 6 entries - one for each of the six files that were accessed when the site visitor opened the webpage. A log normally provides the file name and path, the date, as well as the visitor’s Operating System, Internet browser and IP address. Occasionally you may also find the referrer sites that sent the visitors to your Internet site. The information which an access log file contains is in human-readable plain text format. It can be processed by special software on a laptop or computer and used to write reports on the performance of a website, besides the web statistics which your hosting server may have generated.

Access Log Manager in Cloud Hosting

If you purchase a cloud hosting from us, you shall be able to decide if access logs must be produced and for which domains or subdomains in your account this must be done. You'll be able to activate this feature from the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia Control Panel, integrated with all shared accounts. Each and every domain you host or subdomain you set up will be listed there and you'll see an On/Off option next to each and every one of them, so you can quickly activate or disable the generation of access logs independently for every single site that you have. You may save a log to your computer by clicking on the Download link you'll see within the same section of the CP. The link shall be available even after you deactivate the log generation, so you'll still have access to the data collected by our system.

Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting

When you host your Internet sites within a semi-dedicated server account with us, you'll have the option to trigger or deactivate the generation of access logs with just several mouse clicks inside your Hepsia hosting Control Panel. You will find this feature in the Access/Error Logs section, which you can access once you sign in. All it takes for our system to start producing logs is one click on the On button that you'll see there. The feature can be activated separately for any Internet site regardless if it uses a domain or a subdomain and you'll find the complete list of all the hosts within that section. Any access log can be downloaded as a text file with simply a click and you may then look at it manually or use some software on your personal computer. The log generation could be stopped by simply switching the On option to Off inside the Logs section of your Control Panel.
